France only for now: country is a dimension of the calculation, not a language. Other countries will open one calculator at a time.

How these calculators are built

Frequently asked questions about the calculators

Where do the rates and thresholds come from?

From French public sources — service-public.gouv.fr, impots.gouv.fr, urssaf.fr. Every constant carries its link, its tax year and its verification date, all listed at the bottom of the calculator page.

What happens when a scale changes during the year?

The tax year on display stays that of the values actually applied, and a banner appears on the page until the constants have been re-read against their source. A calculation never claims to be up to date before it is.

Are my entries stored anywhere?

Not unless you ask. The calculation runs on demand and its result is never stored. The values you type never travel through the page address, including when a report is downloaded: they go in the request body, not in the URL. When signed in, you can save a calculation to your space: only its inputs are kept, and it is recalculated each time you reopen it.

Can I rely on this result for my tax return?

It is an estimate meant to prepare a filing or a decision, not personalised advice. Legal mechanisms that are not modelled are listed in the “assumptions” section of each page, before the result rather than after it.

Why French calculators only?

Country is a property of the calculation, not a language: an engine applies one specific body of law, it is not translated. Only France is covered today; other countries will open one calculator at a time, once demand is measured.
