Sources and assumptions

Calculation assumptions

  • The SMIC is an hourly rate: the monthly amount is hourly rate × weekly hours × 52 / 12, rounded to the cent after the full product (the administration's rule), and the yearly amount is hourly rate × hours × 52. The result is the minimum base salary, excluding bonuses, benefits in kind and supplements.
  • The net amount shown is indicative: it is the net figure published by service-public for full-time work at the legal duration, prorated to the hours entered. The actual net depends on the contract's own contributions (health top-up, disability cover, executive status, exemptions): compute it with the employee social contributions calculator.
  • The reduction applicable to employees under 18 with less than 6 months of professional experience, as well as the pay of apprentices and professionalisation contracts, are not computed: the amount shown is the general case (adult employee).
  • The specific SMIC for Mayotte is not modelled, and the guaranteed minimum (used for benefits in kind) is not provided by this calculator.
