Calculation assumptions

  • The calculation covers only the basic pension of the French general scheme (private sector employees). Civil service, self-employed, agricultural and special schemes follow their own rules and are not covered. The result is an estimate: only your pension fund settles your pension.
  • The average annual salary is taken as entered. The engine does not select your 25 best years, does not revalue past salaries with the official revaluation coefficients and does not exclude the year of departure. It does apply the cap on salaries credited to your account at the annual social security ceiling. The number of years is reduced to 24 or 23 for parents entitled to an insurance-duration increase: that reduction is not modelled.
  • The missing quarters used for the reduction are the smaller of the two official counts: quarters until the automatic full-rate age, or quarters until the required duration. Increase quarters are estimated as the whole quarters between the legal retirement age and the departure age entered, capped at the quarters exceeding the required duration: the engine does not know your actual calendar of quarters contributed after the legal age, nor the distinction between contributed and credited quarters. Full rate and the reduction are assessed on the insurance period across all schemes, the proration on the state pension scheme quarters only: someone insured under several schemes enters both. Increase quarters are still counted on the state pension scheme quarters.
  • The minimum pension is flagged only when the pension is granted at the full rate. Its exact amount depends on your number of contributed quarters, which is not asked: the engine shows the basic and the increased minimum as a bracket when the required duration is reached, and the prorated basic minimum when the full rate comes from age. It checks neither the condition of claiming all your pensions nor the reduction based on your total pensions.
  • Early retirement (long career, disability, permanent incapacity, unfitness for work) and the age reduction linked to parental insurance-duration increases are not modelled: they open the full rate earlier than the legal age used here.
  • The amount shown is gross, before CSG, CRDS, Casa and health insurance contributions. It does not include the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension, pension increases (children, third-party assistance), or the pensions owed by other basic schemes for the quarters validated there.
