Short-time work allowance — 60 or 67 per cent of what exactly?
The rate applies not to the lost wage but to the difference between the two FLAT-RATE NET amounts — which is why the allowance falls well below 60 per cent of the gross shortfall.

Calculation assumptions
- The flat-rate net amounts are entered by you: § 106 (1) sentence 6 leaves their calculation to a program published in the Federal Gazette.
- One-off payments are excluded from both target and actual pay by § 106 (1) sentence 4.
- The figures relate to one entitlement period, normally a calendar month.
- Not modelled: the increases to actual pay under § 106 (2) (pay reduced for other than economic reasons) and (3) (pay from employment, self-employment or work as a contributing family member taken up while drawing the allowance) are not calculated. They must already be included in the actual pay you enter and in the flat-rate net read from it; otherwise the allowance shown will be too high.
