Company car annual taxes calculator (former TVS)

Enter the vehicle's energy source, Crit'Air category and WLTP CO2 emissions: the CO2 scale applies gram by gram, the pollutant tax depends on the category, then the total is prorated to the number of days of business use and rounded to the euro — an electric or hydrogen vehicle pays nothing.

Sources and assumptions

Calculation assumptions

  • The calculation covers a passenger vehicle (private car, or pick-up and similar N1 vehicles) whose emissions were measured under the WLTP method at first registration in France. The CO2-NEDC scale (older registrations) and the fiscal-horsepower scale (vehicles without EU type approval) are not modelled.
  • The taxpayer is assumed to be a company: sole traders, non-profit bodies and vehicles used for certain activities (taxis and private-hire cars, farming, driving instruction, motor sport, rental) are exempt and not covered here, nor is the pro-rata reduction of the tariff for mixed exempt uses.
  • The 40% CO2 emissions allowance for vehicles running on E85 superethanol (except above 250 g/km or 12 fiscal horsepower) is not applied: for such a vehicle the computed amount is overstated.
  • The €15,000 reduction and the weighting coefficient provided for employees' or directors' own vehicles whose business expenses the company reimburses are not modelled: the calculation applies to a vehicle owned or leased long-term by the company.
  • The share of the year is computed over 365 days (366 in a leap year); the number of vehicles multiplies an identical result for all of them, whereas in practice each vehicle must be computed separately.
