French VAT exemption threshold
From your activity and your turnover for the previous and current years, the calculation tells whether the VAT exemption is kept, lost on the following 1 January or lost from the day the threshold is exceeded, with the remaining margin and the theoretical VAT at the standard rate.

Calculation assumptions
- The calculation places turnover against the French VAT exemption thresholds (CGI art. 293 B) for a business established in France; it covers neither the EU cross-border exemption, nor the overseas departments, nor agricultural activities.
- The theoretical VAT is computed at the standard rate, inherited from the VAT calculator, on turnover deemed exclusive of VAT; an activity taxed at a reduced or intermediate rate would collect less.
- When the increased threshold is exceeded, VAT is due on transactions from the day of exceeding: the base used is the part of turnover above the increased threshold. The transaction that crosses the threshold is in fact fully taxable, so the actual VAT may be slightly higher.
- Mixed activity: total turnover is compared with the sales thresholds, the services share with the services thresholds (BOFiP TVA-DECLA-40-10-10); the less favourable of the two situations is retained.
