Sources and assumptions
- gesetze-im-internet.de — BUrlG § 11 Abs. 1 Satz 1 — tax year 2026, verified on September 23, 2026
Excerpt from the source : « Das Urlaubsentgelt bemißt sich nach dem durchschnittlichen Arbeitsverdienst, das der Arbeitnehmer in den letzten dreizehn Wochen vor dem Beginn des Urlaubs erhalten hat, mit Ausnahme des zusätzlich für Überstunden gezahlten Arbeitsverdienstes. »
Calculation assumptions
- BUrlG s. 11 sets no daily divisor: the weekly average is divided here by the number of working days per week, the unit in which leave is taken.
- This is statutory holiday pay. A collective agreement may set a different method; the statute provides for no extra holiday bonus.
- Benefits in kind not provided during leave must be paid out in cash at a reasonable value (s. 11(1) sentence 4) — that amount is not included.
