Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is paid by the employer at 70% of the employee's normal daily wage, capped at EUR 110/day, for up to 5 paid sick days per calendar year (the planned expansion to 7/10 days was paused by government in early 2025 — remains 5 days for 2026). Requires 13+ weeks of continuous service and a registered medical certificate. After SSP is exhausted, Illness Benefit (Department of Social Protection, PRSI-based) may apply — not modeled here.
