Worked example

Two hours a week, and already a contract

Claire has someone come in for two hours every Wednesday to clean. She pays cash for eight months, then decides to declare. The catch-up covers contributions for those eight months, and the employee may claim her paid leave entitlement for the same period. Declaring from the first hour would have cost the same contributions, without the arrears or the exposure.
