Practical case
What must be handed over, and by when?
An online shop agrees orally with a new warehouse worker. The agreed start is Monday 1 June 2026, and he actually begins work that day. There is no written contract. The business does not fall within any sector of section 2a of the Act to Combat Undeclared Work. By which three dates must which items be handed over at the latest?
Hint: Distinguish the first day of work from the agreed start, and assign the fifteen numbers to the three deadlines of sentence 9.
Show the solution
Names and addresses, pay and working time, meaning numbers 1, 7 and 8, must be available on the first day of work. Numbers 2 to 6, 9 and 10 must be handed over by the seventh calendar day after the agreed start; seven calendar days after 1 June leads to 8 June. The remaining numbers 11 to 15 follow no later than one month after the agreed start, that is by 1 July. Because the business is outside section 2a, it may use text form, provided it asks for an acknowledgement of receipt.
Answer: 1 June, 8 June and 1 July 2026
