The Friday evening accident
A fall observed at the end of the day on a building site, with nobody at the office present. The worker tells the business at nine o'clock on Monday morning. The forty-eight hour period runs from that Monday: it expires on Wednesday, the Sunday not being counted. The accident sheet is handed over on the Monday itself, before anything is sent to the fund.
