Worked example
Luca's disputed invoice
Luca signs on 12 October 2026 and enters the earliest date allowed, 1 January 2024. The service recovers all his invoices from 2024 onwards. The €2,400 invoice of September 2023 stays out. Nor can he download it from the viewing service: a file received in 2023 was available only until 31 December 2025.
Practical case
Anna signs up in November 2026
Anna, a graphic designer under the ordinary regime since 2022, signs the service agreement on 20 November 2026. In the form she enters the earliest past start date the service allows. She has three important invoices: one received by the SdI on 15 June 2023 for €1,900, one of 3 February 2024 for €5,200 and one of 18 March 2026 for €2,700. Which of them enter the service? For the one left out, can she still download the file from the viewing service?
Hint: First find the earliest past start date for a 2026 sign-up. For the invoice left out, work out until when its file stayed in the viewing service.
Show the solution
Joining in 2026: the past start date cannot precede 1 January of the second preceding year, that is 1 January 2024. The invoices of 3 February 2024 and 18 March 2026 therefore enter storage. The invoice of 15 June 2023 stays out. Its file was downloadable until 31 December of the second year after receipt, 31 December 2025: in November 2026 the portal no longer offers it.
Answer: The 2024 and 2026 invoices go in; the 2023 invoice stays out and its file can no longer be downloaded
