The 46-hour weeks at IndustrieModerne
A 46-hour week does not cross the forty-eight-hour weekly ceiling: on that count it is lawful. It does, however, produce eleven hours of overtime beyond the statutory thirty-five. And if the workshop strings together enough busy weeks for the average over twelve consecutive weeks to exceed forty-four hours, the same arrangement becomes irregular without any single week having been so.
