No general statutory entitlement in Ireland: an annual or Christmas bonus depends entirely on the employment contract, a discretionary employer scheme, or custom and practice (Payment of Wages Act 1991, s. 1 — 'wages' excludes non-contractual gratuities/bonuses). This calculator estimates the gross amount (pro-rated by months worked) and a net estimate via the standard employee PRSI Class A1 rate (4.2% as of 1 October 2025). Income tax (PAYE) and USC are not modeled.
